A few thoughts on our longings. Or should I say groanings. Have you ever groaned in your heart and thought in prayer, Lord do you “hear me” and wondered if he did? Well this is where the children of Israel were. They wondered lord? I’m suffering here under “rigor” in Egypt. The word rigor here spoken of in (exodus 1:14c). It speaks of this: Rigor: The difficult and unpleasant conditions or experiences that are associated with something.
What is that something your experiencing or longing for deliverance not only from your savior (rescuer). It says in (exodus 2:23-25). Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel GROANED because of the bondage. What was their bondage? It was serving under the Egyptians as slaves to serve with RIGOR? But your groaning is what? Is it a difficult job, financial situation, living situation, or singleness that is lasting a long time? Regardless God is ALWAYS our living water rescuer.
I found this encouraging as well. Look at what the word groaned means in Hebrew in these few examples below:
In exodus 3:7c it says: for I know their sorrows.
God knows! Doesn’t that give you GREAT encouragement in your affliction or groaning heart. God KNOWS. Or as the nasb 1995 version puts it. I love this. It says, “God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them.”
Exodus 2:25 NASB1995
God took notice. That’s awesome don’t you agree? Look at more specificity at what the Hebrew word: ra aw word for groan or bittnerness is this word means the following taken from reference: blue letter Bible.org.
Ra aw:

I hope that just lifts up your bitterness of heart or weary groaning. God is looking intently at it. Perceiving or understanding it. Learning about it. Finding out about it. All the meanings for this Hebrew word I listed above.
He’s got a GOOD plan. Like (jeremiah 29:11) states.
He’s a great savior, rescuer and LORD we serve amen?
God bless your day in Christ!
